Bucharest parks- the "Crown Jewels"

• Cismigiu Park it is situated in the centre of the capital, the oldest and most beautiful park in Bucharest covering a surface of 17 hectares. The arrangement works began under the coordination of the Wien architect, F. Meyer. It consists of a large French garden (in the west) the Writers' Area and the Roman Area, a rose garden (in the north), three lakes, the biggest one with an island landing place where one can rent little boats.
  

• Herastrau Park it is situated on the bank of the Herastrau Lake. It was arranged between 1936 - 1939. The tree vegetation of willow, poplar, oak, maple, ash and lime trees, Exploflora, the alleys, the kiosks, the statues of outstanding personalities of national and universal culture, as well as the restaurants, the terraces and the pool increase the charm of this park. The Herastrau Lake covers a surface of 77 hectares and is used for entertainment, water sports and boating, water bicycles, yachts.

• Carol Park it was founded at the beginning of the 20th century. The park covers a surface of 36 hectares at the foot of Filaret Hill. Its natural aspect is that of mixed park, with a dominant landscape characteristic. Especially interesting are ,,The Well of the Zodiac", the artificial cave, ,,the historical ruins", the shady alleys with secular poplar trees, The Roman Arenas" where shows take place attracting many visitors. The lake of 2 hectares is used for entertainment and has a landing place.
