The Holy Three Hierarchs Monastery

Built more than 350 years ago the church "Three Hierarchs" has become a genuine cultural and spiritual hearth, with candles and torches smoking the tower of the church four centuries with the courtyard asleep after countless sieges remaining a testimony of a brilliant place from Ulita Mare.

 

How can you get there? It is located on Stefan cel Mare Boulevard, in Iasi.

 

Why is it special? 

 

It became famous by extraordinary adorns of the facades, from foundation to top of towers. One may count more than 30 books of motifs which do not repeat. Elements of Western architecture (Gothic, Renaissance) are combine with the oriental-inspired Armenian, Georgian, Persian, Arabic and Ottoman, in a very bold design, whose result is still a harmonious whole. The exuberant decor makes us think that the church resembles an ark - or a box for relics - of architectural proportions, specifically designed to house the relics of Saint Parascheva (1641).
