Memorial House "Mos Ion Roata"

The Memorial House was inaugurated on January 24th, 1959, on the occasion of the centenary of the Union of Romanian principalities, in the house where Ion Roata lived, from the little village Gura Vaii and moved to the road linking the city Panciu with Soveja.

Restored, the house contains objects specific to the family and social surroundings in which Ion Roata lived and documentary evidence on his work in ad hoc Divan of Moldavia (1857), as Member of the peasantry.

John's personality, for the Union militant and improvement of the peasants' fate, architectural features, of monocellular peasant house,  specific to Vrancea county, harmonious and expressive,  make of  this historic and museum objective , an attraction and interest for anyone who travels in Vrancea.

Memorial House  "Al. Vlahuta"

This is the place where the writer spent a few years of life, until 1916, when he was  forced to advance to the front, to flee with some of his goods of to Barlad.

In the span of his stay in Dragosloveni, many of the greatest Romanian writers of the two world wars were the guests of this house. Here the three friends-Caragiale, Delavrancea and Vlahuta met for the first time.

The Memorial House was installed and inaugurated in 1958 at the centenary celebration of the writer. In some rooms downstairs and upstairs, the tutors tried and - we believe- succeeded in reconstructing the specific atmosphere of the time: furniture, library books of their own journals of the time, some items that belonged to the writer.

In addition, visitors are offered a brief overview of the life and work of the great writer.

The "Dragosloveni Literary Salon" is held here every autumn. The memorial house is situated at the km 164.400 on the left side of the European road between Ramnicu Sarat and Focsani.

Monuments and statues

Marasesti Mausoleum

The initiative of building the Heroes' Mausoleum belongs to the National Orthodox Society of Romanian Women in the Congress of June 8th, 1919. They say that Mausoleum of Marasesti requires a respect so great that Hitler himself, when the allied air force bombed Prahova Valley and threaten Moldova, he asked Antonescu to send at Marasesti two subunits of Antiaircraft forces to defend the Mausoleum.

Marasti Mausoleum

Heroes Mausoleum is located in Marasti, in  Racoasa village, situated north-west of the city Panciu (about 27 km.). Here, between July 9th to July 17th, 1917, in the Romanian offensive of the Şuşiţa valley, one the biggest battles of World War ended with a brilliant victory. In the basement there is a small museum in which objects belonged to General Văitoianu and weapons of World War are exhibited.

In front of the monument 15 white marble plaques were placed and here one can see the names of the regiments and soldiers who participated in the battles taking place on these lands.

Soveja Mausoleum

In the village Dragosloveni, which belongs to the Soveja village, a mausoleum was built  in the memory of those who died in the fighting of  1916-1918, as recorded on the inscription of  the frontispiece of the monument: "Here rest the fallen soldiers on these lands in the 1916-1919 war" Nearby, in a building located behind the mausoleum, a museum that exhibited photo-documentary material and weapons used by Roman soldiers during the fighting in The First World War was built.
