Description:
Carol I Park was designed in 1900 by architect E. Redont and was opened in 1906. The Park was built in the mixed style on the Filaret Hill.
The actual area of the park is about 45 ha.
Location: Carol Park or Liberty Park is a park located in sector 4 of Bucharest, Filaret Hill
There are particularly attractive features:
- Roman Arenas, located peripheral, with a capacity of 5,500 seats in the open;
- Technical Museum "Dimitrie Leonida Prof. Ing" which opened in 1909 and reorganized in 1954;
- A copy of Sequoia gigantea, a tree declared a natural monument;
- Vlad's Tower, which houses a water tank;
- Monuments and statues, particularly remarkable;
- Monument of Unknown Soldier, made in 1991;
- Statue "Giants", made by sculptor Dumitru Paciurea;
- Cantacuzino Fountain, a monument of art in neoclassical style, built in 1870, is decorated on front and sides with bas-reliefs, ceramic tiles and flags representing the medieval knights.
The park includes a small lake marked by a bridge plated with marble tiles.
