Description: Moldova is located in the eastern part of Romania, known by its folklore or by the attractions, beauty and history. The greatest character in this region is Stefan the Great, considered by Pope Pius sixth the "Athlete of Christ". During Alexandru Ioan Cuza's reign, Moldova was united with the Romanian Country principalities, in 1859. Nowadays, Iasi County is considered the capital of Moldova and it has one of the largest university centre in the country.
Name: Moldavia in the past was Bogdania, after the name of the founder Bogdan, "Moldova" is a deviation from the river "Moldova".
