"Grigore Antipa" Museum of Natural History is one of the most fascinating places offered by Bucharest. It is the largest and oldest museum of its kind in all Danube countries, gathering over 3000.000 exhibits, including the rich and important collection of butterflies from all around the world.

The museum was founded in 1908. The first collections, in 1834, belonging to the College of St. Sava, represented the establishment of the museum, which currently holds pieces illustrating the following areas: ecology, zoology, oceanography, palaeontology, taxonomy, morphology. The library of the museum contains 30 200 volumes and 20 000 periodicals.
Visiting "Grigore Antipa" National Museum of Natural History means a fascinating journey through time from the birth of the universe to nowadays, to know how planet on which we live was formed, how creatures emerged and evolved, how the diversity of life forms has developed. It is, at the same time, a rare trip to space, covering the globe, from one continent to another, from jungle to desert, from deep caves of the earth to frozen expanses of polar lands, from mountain lakes to depths of oceans.

- Wednesday, Thursday, Friday - 10.00-19.00 (Museum visitors are allowed access to at 18.00)
- Saturday, Sunday - 10.00-20.00 (Museum visitors are allowed access to the city in 19.00)
ENTRY FEES IN MUSEUM
- Adults - 6 Euro / person
- Preschool (3-7 years), students, conscripts - 3 Euro / person
- Children older than 3 years, organized in groups of at least 20 people - 2.5 RON / person
- children aged up to 3 years, institutionalized children, pensioners, invalids, the disabled, war veterans, employees and retirees of the national museum network - free entrance on free tickets.
