Description:
Folk music is a hybrid musical genre, resulting in confrontation with the popular combinations of instruments with the city life and with socio-political reality of the first half of the twentieth century. In the 1990, a new wave of changes in society and mass culture represented the starting point of a subgenre of popular music, which is frequently used as "ethno".
With a special representative in the Balkans and the Eastern bloc countries, this musical genre is recognized by few languages as they are in most cases included with the neighbouring concepts such as: traditional music (folk), music, fiddlers, folk music, rarely in easy listening or pop music. To translate these terms there are many terminology conflicts for the different cultural horizon from one country to another.
Romanian folklore music includes all the creations of the Romanian traditional and spiritual culture of the sound art. It refers to the musical heritage of the Romanians living in the countryside.
