Description:

In the broadest and known sense, contemporary music is any music being written and played today. It includes any type of music existing today. However, in the strict historical and musicological terminology, the term contemporary music is about modern forms of music, considered art.

In a narrower sense, it may include only the most recent forms of music:

Contemporary classical music (post-1975) - including post-modern music, music performance, etc.)
