Geographical Situation


It is located in the south-eastern part of Romania, in the north –east of the Romanian Plain, on the lower Danube.

 Monuments of Nature


The Viisoara Forest, a forest preserve covering a surface of 1,700 hectares (Braila-Slobozia road up to Insuratei and then , 25 km south-east on a country roud, towards the Spiru Haret village). The preserve includes species of gray oak grown here, in a fully steppe region, due to the good climate conditions. The Small Island of Braila, complex preserve where, on over 5336 hectares, one can see rare species and lots of birds.
