What happens at the same time in Caracas and in Aiud, in Montevideo and in Timisoara and Cluj in Tunis? These are “Festival very short films” – “Festival des Très Courts”.
At May 7, 8 and 9, 2010, 51 very short films, from the world around will be designed almost simultaneously in over 25 cities in Romania and in other cities in 13 countries. All films meet only one rule: not to exceed 3 minutes. All genres are welcome: fiction, animation, documentary, experimental film ... A concentrate of inventiveness and imagination!
“Le Festival des Tres Courts” was born in 1999 in Paris, the idea being to promote the festival very short film, less than 3 minutes to meet the public in different parts of the world in the same period, around an international program identical. Festival has arrived for the first time in Romania in 2007. In 2008, over 5600 spectators attended the projections of the 23 cities of Romania. Located in 2009 at the 3rd edition in our country under the coordination of the French Cultural Center in Cluj, the festival brings together, along with the network of cultural centers and French alliances, youth associations, foundations, mayors and county councils, and filmmakers and film fan from all over the country.
In 2009, Romania was awarded a strong presence: the 26 localities is the first country that the number of participating cities, exceeding even France. Another source of pride for us that included international selection for the first 2 movies very short Romanian: “Old ladies never dream” produced in Cluj and “Immerse” (Bucharest). Another Romanian film was included in the international selection of “Parolesde femmes (Question mark).

This edition of the festival put the woman in the spotlight by creating a special section of 21 very short films made on women.
Selection "Around the Très Courts - Romanian films
Encouragement and promotion of local audio-visual is a priority of the festival. The invitation to participate in the competition in 2010 Romanian film is now open in whole country. The only condition imposed on it during the film under 3 minutes. Participation is free with movie on festival. Romanian films selected by a jury will be screened in all cities in Romania to host the festival. Every city in the country, viewers will vote for "Audience Award". So do not hesitate, put your hand on the camera! The deadline for submitting films is March 15, 2010.
