Salina Durgau Turda reopened to visitors

January 22, 2010,  the opening ceremony of Salina Durgau Turda (Cluj County) - spa complex, upgraded with EU funds, took place

The treatment and recovery for those with respiratory diseases, saline church grounds, miniature golf and bowling or wharf underground mines are some of Theresa and Rudolf attractions of the complex. Tourists can admire the whole panorama of a modern elevator that descends to a depth of 80 meters.
The objective benefits of the non-reimbursable European PHARE CES 2005, the project "Enhancing the attractiveness of interest to potential spa area - Salt Lakes - Area Durgau - salted and Turda Salt Valley”.

Work began in 2008 and have a total of 5,807,120 Euro. Be thus make an important contribution in the area of tourism, business and local community in general, by increasing the attractiveness of the area.
The project envisaged the upgrading of tourism infrastructure works and health, growth potential salt lakes, creating a direct link between Salina and Durgau-Valley area salt.

The first salt mining on the current site dates from 1690. In 2000 the area was declared a nature reserve of national interest as an historical museum of mining salt.
