We’re thrilled to be able to offer Guide2Nottingham members the opportunity of a lifetime! We are giving away an all expenses trip to the 10th Yeosu International Youth Festival in South Korea which includes; flights from the airport of your choice up to $1000, all in country expenses, food, accommodation and travel.

Guide2Nottingham is giving away 3 places to people living in Nottingham and throughout the world who want to travel and experience a completely different way of life.

Korea is a fascinating country, it’s social relations may be grounded in ancient Confucianism but South Korea is most decidedly a forward-thinking country thanks to its hurry-hurry approach to everything, an insatiable appetite for technological advancement and an indomitable can-do attitude. Serene temples, picturesque mountains, lush rice paddies, unspoiled fishing villages and endless hiking opportunities are so far off the beaten track, it’s unlikely you’ll meet any Westerners (or even English speakers) on the road less travelled.

The only pre requisite required is that you are aged between 13-25, and have some interest in the world, the environment, or simply want to travel to Korea and learn about another culture and share your own. Whilst at the festival winners will be sharing their own culture with members from other countries, making T-Shirts, blogging news about the camp and generally having a good time!  

For those of you who are artistically minded there will be opportunities to look around and see a wide range of performances including; miming, Bboys and break dancing, and singing competitions/ talent performances.

Not only can you watch them, you can also take part and win some cash! With a fist prize of $3000USD in 2008, we can expect the prize to be just as good, if not better, so don’t forget your singing voices.

The camp will take place from the 19^th-26^th of July and all entrants must have a valid international passport. To have a chance of winning one of the three places simply sign up as a MyGuide2 member with a profile picture and answer the following question on the competition blog.

‘What’s your favourite travel destination and why in fifty words or less?’

Please note that the competition will end on the 20^th of April 2010 at midnight.

Winners will be asked to pay for their flight which will be reimbursed by the camp organisers on arrival to avoid the resale of fight tickets and to ensure winners do turn up for the event.
