Romanian Citizens To Go To Japan Without Visa, September 1

18 August 2009

Description:

Romanian citizens will be able to travel to Japan without visa, from September 1, but they will have to present a valid passport, while the visit should not last more than 90 days, according to the Japanese Embassy to Bucharest.

According to the embassy, the measure is temporary, being valid for two years only. It will become conclusive if no incident happens by the end of this two-year period.

Thus, the Japan Embassy said that from September 1 “the Romanian citizens that have a valid passport and want to go to Japan with the intention to stay only for a period of 90 consecutive days, can do so without a visa.”

The measure will not be applied for those that go to Japan to work or exercise their profession, including in the artistic sector or in sports, being remunerated for their activity.

The embassy said all the citizens that enter the Japanese territory will have to observe the Japanese legislation. The Japanese Government reserves the right to temporarily suspend this measure for reasons of public policy, public health and security.

Furthermore Japan’s Government has the right to forbid the Romanian citizens declared undesirable to enter Japan’s territory. (Source: Mediafax)
