Description:
An impressive building which once housed the Trajan emperor was brought to light by archaeologists from Prahova and become a museum.
Roman camp consists of six rooms, very luxurious in their time. The Commander home is perfectly preserved now, and to the surprise of those who discovered it, had heating and pool under the floor.
Drajna locals knew their village lies in a Roman camp, but archaeologists have never had enough money to unearth and study it. This summer they have reopened the site and uncovered the central camp house. Fantastic!
A large swimming pool, indoor, left without words the archaeologists who have found that is still functional. The mortar used for bonding tile to basin withstands miraculously. The system does not allow water to drain into the ground even now, after 2,000 years.
The camp functioned only 9 years and was abandoned after the death of Trajan.
