Slatina is a fortified monastery founded by Prince of Moldavia, Alexander Lăpuşneanu, located in Suceava County. It was built between 1554 and 1558, to serve as royal necropolis. The monastic settlement is irregular, since the line is interrupted in the eastern wall of the gate tower, which was built in 1834. The canopy above the entrance is a chapel dedicated to St. Nicholas and Spiridon, painted in the Byzantine style. A bridge opposite the southern wall suggests that the high walls were built to defend the monastery of robbers.
