Slatina Monastery
Slatina is a fortified monastery founded by Prince of Moldavia, Alexander Lăpuşneanu, located in Suceava County. It was built between 1554 and 1558, to serve as royal necropolis. The monastic settlement is irregular, since the line is interrupted in the eastern wall of the gate tower, which was built in 1834. The canopy above the entrance is a chapel dedicated to St. Nicholas and Spiridon, painted in the Byzantine style. A bridge opposite the southern wall suggests that the high walls were built to defend the monastery of robbers.

Cetatuia Monastery
Cetatuia Monastery of Iasi is a friary, founded in the eighteenth century by Prince Gheorghe Duca. The Fortress was designed from the beginning as a refuge and armed resistance in case of siege, its walls being provided with narrow buttresses for guns. The walls of the south and east sides were best protected, those on the north and west being on a steep ridge of the hill, being hard to climb by the potential attackers. The existence of a "guard path" of wood may be observed along the walls in order to allow the defense of walls.
